Antique Awaji Pottery (attributed) Bedside Carafe

$75.00
Sold

This porcelain bedside or “tumble up” carafe is so special. Pristine condition with raised enamel Prunus (plum) blossoms. Signed “Japan” on the base. This is attributed to highly sought-after pottery from the island of Awaji, Japan. The cerulean glaze, enamel blossoms, and fine crackle are all characteristic of pieces from that area and time. Signed on base “Japan,” which would place it between 1890-1922. Pricing reflects the fact that origin has not been officially confirmed. This would make an exquisite home-warming, wedding, or host gift.

Dimensions [carafe is 7” tall; with cup atop, 7”, and 12” circumference at widest point; cup is 3” tall x 2.5” diameter at mouth]
