Antique Original Oil on Canvas- Landscape
Nothing gets our heart beating faster than an old painting with some wear. This gem is gorgeous and depicts a landscape scene with trees surrounding a body of water. The use of light is so well done, it gives us the feel of that time right before the sun goes down. Unsigned, yet the square nails, style of painting, age of the canvas, and frame all suggest to us that this is from the mid-late 1800’s.
There are a few spots of chipped paint and nails are missing from the side of the frame on the bottom left, leaving a flap of canvas loose, as pictured.
