Antique Mother-of-Pearl Cake Server (late 1800's)
These Victorian-era cake servers with mother-of-pearl handles are absolutely gorgeous. Either would make a wonderful gift for someone who is getting married (to use for cake at the wedding!) or for a host or house-warming. Both are in great condition for their age. There is no stamp, number, or maker’s mark on either, however we are guessing that these are silver-plated.
#1: Small handle/carved face: this cake server has a more delicate feel. Small handle with mother-of pearl and an engraved paisley-esque design on the face of the server. Dimensions: 8.5” long.
#2: Larger handle/smooth face: this cake server has a larger mother-of-pearl handle with a natural indentation. Very smooth and pleasant to the touch. The face of the server is smooth. Dimensions: 8.5” long.
