Vintage Wood Camel Saddle with Brass Detail (Egypt)

$60.00
Sold

Vintage wood saddle, used for riding camels, and made in Egypt. We love the brass detail on this- the studs on the legs and the caps on the front and rear poles. We believe the ties are an animal hide of some sort. This is in fair vintage condition, with some missing hardware (fasteners on the one side) and general wear from use. These traditional saddles are typically midcentury (1940’s-50’s) according to our research. This piece is missing the leather cushion that is typically fastened on the top (although the holes to secure it are present), which is reflected in the price. We love this piece for stacking books or displaying potted plants- so unique and versatile!

Dimensions [ 23” across x 14” tall x 9” deep]
