Midcentury Teak Hippo Trinket Box by JV Orel for Zoo-Line (1959)
Designed by J.V. Orel for Zoo-Line (Japan) in 1959, this teak hippo trinket box is so sweet. The mouth lifts up to expose its teeth and a place to keep special trinkets hidden. Beautiful condition for its age. We love the sweet rattan tail and little peg legs. The eyes are hinged and can be moved up and down. Signed on base. A rare find!
Dimensions [8" long x 3.5" high x 3" wide]
