Vintage Brass Peacock Fireplace Screen
This vintage “peacock” or “fanning” fireplace screen is exquisite. Art Nouveau style featuring a cameo profile of a person at its center and a detailed dragon motif on the finial handle (which can be used to carry/move the screen). When unfolded, the pierced panels fan out like a peacock’s tail. When not in use, secure it with latches on each side. The best part: when a fire is going in the fireplace, it creates a warm flickering glow with light “dancing” through the pierced patterns and reflecting into the space. We are attributing this to midcentury. Works as intended and is in excellent condition for its age.
