Original Oil on Canvas "Diana's Baths" of North Conway NH, Signed (1884)
This is an absolutely stunning original oil painting from 1884 of Diana’s Baths in North Conway, NH. At over 135 years old, it is in incredible condition for it’s age- and what a rare find! There is some crackling of paint in the top left corner and a shallow chip in the gilded wood frame, as pictured. It is signed, titled, and dated on the back of the canvas. It appears to us that the signed initials are “LMK” but the full-name of the artist is unknown to us. The nails/hardware, canvas, construction of the frame, and style of painting all support it being a Victorian-era piece of artwork. This one is very hard to part with because of it’s artistry, beauty, age, and location- a true gem.
Dimensions [10.5” across x 12.5” tall]
