Horse Bookends by Syroco (1960/70's)
Manufactured by the iconic Syroco and made of wood pulp, molded into the likeness of a horse. Lightweight, but with the appearance of bronze with verdigris patina. A previous owner glued an extension to the base, designed to slide underneath a book for stability and with a cork bottom, to protect surfaces. Both extend to the left, so they could be separated along a shelf, the extensions could be removed, or one horse could face “forward” and the other “backward.” Excellent vintage condition.
Dimensions [7” tall x 6” across x 2” wide; lip extends 2” to the left]
