Cave Birds: An Alchemical Cave Drama (1978) is a work of collaboration between renowned poet, Ted Hughes, and acclaimed illustrator, Leonard Baskin, with twenty-nine poems, all but one accompanied by drawings of birds or bird-like beings. It is a much revised and extended version of a limited edition published three years previously and broadcast on radio in June 1975. Visually, it is quite stunning.
