Pristine large ceramic ashtray with a ship and “Portland Pilots + Portland, Maine USA” on the face. While we can’t locate any comps (AKA rare!), we believe this is a reference to Maritime Pilots, mariners who have specific knowledge of often dangerous or congested waterway and who sometimes board and temporarily join a crew to assist. Metallic gold rim. Immaculate condition.
