Nature Thoughts by Fiona MacLeod (1908)
Small hardcover book with protective sleeve compiled of various poems about nature. Published in 1908, there are also personal mementoes that were found inside: a handwritten love poem, newspaper clipping, a card (this was apparently a gift) and a small pressed flower.
The author wrote under a pseudonym and his legal name was William Sharp. You can find more about this online and it’s pretty interesting (for example, he corresponded with publishers and others as Fiona and it was kept largely a secret until after his death.
The book itself is in excellent condition for 116 years old! This was published by Thomas B. Mosher in Portland, Maine. Page count: 81. This would make a very special gift for anyone who loves nature and ephemera.
