Vintage Couroc black resin tray. Circa 1948, made in Monterey, CA. Hand inlaid by master craftsmen, shells, coins, woods and metals are fused into Couroc's famous satin black material, which is impervious to alcohol, boiling water and cigarette burns. These were sold at high-end department stores before the company closed in the 90’s.

The detail work on this sweet piece is simply stunning. Two birds perched on a branch with wood and brass metal inlay. Some chipping on the top left and bottom right corners, as pictured. Couroc stamp on the back.
