CONSIGNMENT

What do we typically look for?

It depends! Things we consider are: sales trends, available floor space, and alignment with our brand, values, and general aesthetic. Suggestions below to guide, but feel free to send photos of anything you think may be a possible fit. We accept both vintage (20-99 years old) & antiques (100 years old or older).

We are not currently accepting:

  • Dishware (plates, etc.)

  • Kitchen items

  • Large furniture

  • Books

Structure & Payment

  • Consigned items are split 50/50 between the consignor and Monstera Vintage.

  • We can issue payment via check or Venmo/PayPal.

  • Consignors are responsible for monitoring the shared spreadsheet. Payouts can be requested by email or by coming into the shop.

  • Original art (painting, sculpture, photography, textile)

  • Brass (candlesticks, animals, bowls, hardware)

  • Bookends

  • Unique glass & barware (midcentury specifically)

  • Small furniture

  • Match strikers, candlesticks, match safes

  • Handwoven rugs

What is the process like?

  • Once a piece(s) has been accepted for consignment, we will create an itemized Google sheet which will include the name of item, starting price, and any relevant notes.

  • We use this spreadsheet to track sales, including sold price. and date sold. You’ll have ongoing access to this document.

  • You maintain ownership of your item(s) until sold.

  • If an item(s) has not sold in a certain amount if time, we reserve the right to lower the price, up to 20% and/or return the item(s) to you.

  • We research each item thoroughly, however we appreciate any information (provenance, estimated value, etc.)

FAQs

  • Consigned items are subject to store-wide sales, up to 20% off. We will notify consignors in advance of any planned sale greater than 20%, so that items can be picked up or set aside.

  • We CAN accept items with wear (they are old after all!), however we CANNOT accept items that are dirty, unwashed (glassware, etc.), or that have an unpleasant odor (mildew, etc.). We do not do cleaning or repair on consigned pieces.

How to submit an item(s):

  • First, thank you for thinking of us! We look forward to seeing your unique vintage & antique treasures.

  • Please email photos of your item(s) with a short description or email us to schedule an in-person appointment.

  • Please do not bring items to the shop without confirmation from us. We generally are not able to review submissions during open shop hours. We will respond to each inquiry within 7 business days via email.
